Pilates Teacher Training

What to look for in a Pilates Training Provider

Industry Knowledge and Experience

First and foremost is the qualifications and experience of your course tutors.  You are only as good as the people who teach you.  Therefore the people you choose to teach you should be experienced and established Pilates teachers themselves, with a wealth of industry knowledge.

A good sign is if your tutors are currently teaching and running a busy and successful studio(s) themselves.

Check out how long your tutors have been teaching and if they are experienced in other areas of fitness as well.

Also find out if they have written, published or produced any of their own Pilates material such as DVD’s, books or training manuals.

Support and Assistance

You will also need to know what support is available once you qualify.  Does your training provider have an instructor network which you can be part of in order to assist in promoting your business.   Can you find out the latest information in the Pilates industry from your training provider.  What “aftercare” service do they provide following qualification.

Progression Routes

Does your training provider offer ongoing Continuing Professional Development?  Upon completion of the basic Matwork course, what else is on offer to assist in your career progression.  Look out for further courses in advanced Matwork and Reformer machine as well as workshops and CPD courses in some of the smaller pieces of Pilates equipment.
