The discipline uses physical approaches to promote, maintain and restore physical and social well being, taking into account variations in health status. Physiotherapy offers an array of therapeutic avenues from which we select the most appropriate.

Treatments include exercise prescription (core stability, strength and stretching); manual techniques (joint mobilisation and manipulation); soft tissue techniques (massage therapy) and electrotherapy (ultrasound and interferential), in addition to complementary treatments such as acupuncture. A selection of techniques are normally employed to ensure an optimal benefit to your health.

Jamie, our resident physio is a professional member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and The Health Professions Council. He attained his Physiotherapy degree with honours at the University of Salford and is an AACP approved acupuncturist. Jamie also has experience working within the NHS and as physio at Sunderland AFC academy.
